Fohse announces an agreement with a Canadian medicinal cannabis grower to grow lights for its plants

According to reports, Fohse, a horticultural lighting supplier headquartered in Nevada, USA, announced an agreement with the Canadian medicinal cannabis grower, Creative Cannabis, to supply plant growth lights to its plant in Ontario.

It is reported that CuraTIve Cannabis is expected to produce 3,000 kg of medicinal cannabis annually.

According to the agreement, CuraTIve Cannabis`s 30,000-square-foot plantation plant will install Fohse`s A3i and F1V LED lighting devices.

CuraTIve Cannabis said that Fohse's A3i system uses 56% fewer lamps than the high-pressure sodium lamp system and can produce the same amount of light output. In other words, the light output of two A3i systems is equivalent to the light output of three 1000-watt double-ended high pressure sodium lamps. In addition, its F1V LED Lamp uses Philips Lamp Beads.

CuraTIve Cannabis said that compared to traditional high-pressure sodium lighting systems, using Fohse's LED growth lights, the company expects to increase cannabis production and save energy by about 50%.

It is understood that in 2018, Canadian cannabis cultivation began to be legalized, and start-ups have grabbed market share in all links of the cannabis supply chain. In 2018, Statistics Canada estimated that in 2017, nearly 5 million Canadians spent money on marijuana, at a cost of approximately US$890 per person.
